Globacom on Tuesday launched a new promotion, Free Tomorrow, which offers its subscribers 15 days of free calls, SMS and data every month.
Giving details of the offers at the launch ceremony, Globacom’s Manager, Devices and Partnership, Odafe Akerejola, said Free Tomorrow
checks how much airtime a subscriber spends in a day for calls, SMS and
internet browsing, and then credits the subscriber the next day with
the same value of the previous day’s usage for free..
“For
instance, if a Globacom subscriber uses N500 credit in a day on calls,
SMS and data, Globacom will give him back N500 credit the very next day.
It is like going to a first class restaurant to have a sumptuous meal
and being served the full value and quantity of food the next day, free
of charge” he explained. Odafe Akerejola said the value offered to
subscribers in the promo is unequalled by any other offer in the 14
years history of telecoms in the country. “The only precursor of this magnitude we could recall was the Per Second Billing which Globacom pioneered“, he said.
Free Tomorrow
is like giving the subscriber free phone usage for 15 days every month,
he explained. According to him, since there is an average of 30 days in
a month, Free Tomorrow gives Glo subscribers the privilege to make
calls, browse the internet and send SMS for free 15 days in a month. He
noted that, with the new offer, Globacom had addressed the challenges
people face trying to cope with the financial demands of making calls,
sending text messages or browsing the internet for learning, business or
social purposes.
“The uniqueness
of Free Tomorrow is that the free credit can be used anyhow the
subscriber wishes for calls to any network or for data. The subscriber
can also use the bonus credit to call friends, family and business
associates in any five of the most frequently called countries by
Nigerians including Unites States of America, China, India, Canada and
land lines in the United Kingdom“, he added.
Odafe Akerejola also stated that the Free Tomorrow
offer is for prepaid subscribers, and that subscribers can enjoy the
fantastic benefits by dialing *300# to subscribe at zero cost.
On the likely huge traffic that the two promos are expected to add to the network, David Maji,
Globacom’s Retail and Consumer Sales Chief, disclosed in his welcome
remarks at the event that the quality and capacity of the network had
been enhanced to accommodate this.
He
added that Globacom would continue to invest huge resources in
infrastructure, people and technology towards developing and maintaining
a communications technology that is second to none in Africa.
